LONDON, August 11
The European earthquake recorders to-day indicate the greatest earthquake shock since the big Japanese quake of September, 1923. There was a violent shaking, the seismograph needle coming right out.
.It is believed the centre of the trouble is the sparsely-populated wastes of Central Asia.
