POLICE BAFFLED
ENGLISH POISONING TRAGEDY. (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright ) LONDON, August 12. An inquest has failed to throw the least light on the death of Lieutenant Chaviss by poisoning as cabled on July 19th. An open verdict was returned, after the widow had described the fatal meal in detail. The police admitted that they had failed to trace the source of he strychnine, or the sender of the “Hooray” telegram.
