VISIT TO AUCKLAND’. 'United Pre»a Association— By £le<rtr> Telegraph.—Copyright 1 AUCKLAND, August 10. The Chilean Training Ship, General Baquedano, arrived here from Sydney to-day, salutes' being exchanged as the ship entered port. The Chilean Consul, Mr Craig, welcomed Captain Alvarez, a number ot official calls following. The ship was thrown open for inspection, and many Aucklanders went on board. It is expected that the vessel will be in Auckland for eight days. Nothing definite has been arranged yet regarding the vessel's prospective visit to Wellington.,,. The ship’s complement totals 17 officers 24 midshipmen, four petty officers, and 265 other x’anks.
