APPEAL TO PROTESTANTS. VOTE UNITEDS OUT. (By Telegraph.—Per Press A ssaeiation) ’ WELLINGTON, August 10. An appeal to Potestants to oppose the present :'G6venimeht at the coming general election was embodied in a motion'that was carried to-day at the Dominion Conference of the Protestant Political Association. Mr F. A. Taylor, -off Hawera. presided, and the members off the Executive Council and , delegates from all parts of New Zealand were present. It was stated* in'.the resolution that the United Party had failed to uphold Imperial and Dominion responsibilities, . and that it had neglected and op - posed the rights; of vFrptestants. ; . The resolution further contained a reference to privileges/being provided for in nurses 'and the Midwives’ Registration .Act, and to oulogistic references by Ministers of rthe Crown to the sectarian schools with -a prejudicial effect ton the State school system.
