It was stated today that it was almost certain that Captain Coll Macdonald would stand for Dunedin West in the interests of the United Party. It is understood from an official source that the statement has no -foundation in fact, arid that the United Party organisation has so far taken no steps jn the dh’eotjon indicated. WELLINGTON, August 6. - The National,Executive of the United Party has confirmed the selection of Mr W. B. Darlow as the party’s candidate for the Waitemata seat, Mr Dai’low is a member of the Waitemata Power Boord and the Auckland Harbour Board, Mr A, Harris (Reform) is the sitting member".
