RUAPEHU BASSES TO ITALIANS. AUCK.LANO, August 4. Another of the New Zealand Shi>> piug Company’s steamers, the Ruapehu, has been sold. The vessel, which had been engaged ii* the trade( > between New Zealand and Great Britain for ninny', years, is at: present Onid up in Falmouth Harbour. •Mr .1: H. C. Bond, Dominion super-, intendent for the company,'- who is visiting Auckland, stated .that cable advice from England announced the sale of the Riiapplm to Italian buyers.
[The Ruapehu lias been in the New Zeal and-London .(service' for 39 years, and has made more- than 60 voyages. She was a sister-ship to the Rimutaka, which was sold, some time ago. The Ruapehu was built in 1900 01 by William Denny and Brothers, in Dumbarton. The vessel, which i s the second ship of the name in the New Zealand Shipping Company’s fleet, is a passenger and cargo steamer of 8997 tons gross register. During the war she carried several reinforcements of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force.]
