PUBLIC ACCOUNTS
FOR LAST QUARTER. i By Telegraph—Per Press Association) WELLINGTON, August 6. The public accounts for the tirst three months of this financial year are published in a supplementary Gazette. Commenting on the figures, Mr Forbes said that it would he seen that the revenue of the Consolidated .Fund for-; Che period amounted to £,3,814,724, compared with. £4,172,123 for the corresponding period of last financial year. A considerable shrinkage of revenue had been anticipated for this financial year. The receipts for the three months in question, while not altogether an accurate guide to the year’s position,- certainly indicated heavy reductions in revenue. The estimates were justified. 3 ; The Prime Minister added that the expenditure for the three months totalled £5,550.062, compared with £5,563,742 in the corresponding period 'last year. nu lt .Fm«^n
