A message from St. Nazaire, states that with her hull covered with seaweed, her decks filled with slime and with a tattered flag hanging from the debris, the ill-fated steamer “St. Philbert,” was beached. Four bodies were found in a preliminary search. Other bodies are still being washed up on the shore. The vessel capsized with hundreds aboard some time ago, and nearly fall were drowned. LORD READING. - i RUGBY, August 6. , The engagement was announced on Thursday of Lord Reading (formerly Sir Rufus Isaacs), former Viceroy of India, to Miss Stella Chasnaud. The wedding was to fake place on Thursday of this week. Miss Chesnaud was on the Vice-Regal staff in -India, .and since returning to -England has acted as Lord Reading's principal secretary, has helped him in his political and business interests, and notably in his work on the Round-Table Conference. She- is stated to possess an exceptional knowledge of Indian affairs, and of polities and business, and to be a remarkable linguist. ' v •
