THOUGHTS OF THE TIMES.
N.Z. MARKET. We are at present placed in the unfortunate position of having only one market overseas for our primary products—Great Britain —on whom we depend wholly and solely for the disposal of the exportable surplus of our primary products. This fact is being brought to our notice clearly almost daily by the prohibitive tariffs that other countries, with whom we have hitherto enjoyed 1 a large volume of export and import trade, are raising against us. —Financial Times.
