RADIO PROGRAMME

From the Lewis Eady Hall, a concert by the 'Aeolian Orchestra, under -*u(Jerald T. Lee, will be broadcast on relay by IYA this overling. Featured on 2YA’s programme will be (Mr Rex. Harrison, baritone. He will sing four very popular songs: “I am a Friar of Orders Urey,” “The Vulcan's .Song,’’ ‘‘The Crescent Moon” and “The Lute Player.” Miss Muriel Johns will sing songs at the piano. Mr V. 'Evans will give two humorous items. Also included on the programme will be Mi' 1 Terence O'Brien, Irish tenor, and a violin solo “Romance” (by Wieniawski) will be played by Mr W. Haydock. The Qrchestrina, under Signor A. P. Truda, will be heard in “Sylvia Ballet -uus:c,” “Miniature Suite,” “Serenade Roccoco, ’ the selection “Gipsy Princess ’ and the latest dance novelties.
The weekly International Talk from 3YA will be given by Mr G o. Lawn, M.A. of Canterbury College. He will speak on “Manchuria.” Silent day at 4YA.
FRIDAY, AUGUST 7th. An interesting item on lYA’s programme this evening will be “Ihe Story of Cutty Sark,” as told by “Lee Fore •Brace.” Mr Keg. Morgan and his Orchestra will provide the major portion of lYA's concert programme. Solo items will be contributed by saxophone and violin, while Mr Morgan will himself contribute two baritone songs. The orchestral numbers will include a selection of old English songs besides dance tunes and the latest popular hits. Solos will be sung by Miss ‘Winifred E. Osborne (soprano) and Miss Phyllis James (contralto) and there will be a pianoforte number by Mr Cyril Towsey. Ihe Lyric Quartet of male voie<s, and Miss Ella Fair will provide the vocal portion of 2YA’s programme. The quartettes will be specially fine and numerous duets and solos will also be sung. The lOrchestrina, under Signor A. P. Truda, will play the overture “Emblem,” the s.’laetion “Little J>Uh Girl,” the selection “Poppy” and a tarantelle, “Napoli.” Oi'A will be engaged with a boxing relay. The (Regal Four will provide the vocal portion of the musical programme at 4YA. The quartettes will include such
favourites as ’ “Carnptown Races,” "Old Kentucky Horn" ” ‘ ' r “° 'Mock ng Bird” and “Canadian Boat Song.” During the evening there will be a bn talk about Admiral Blake, appropriately introduced by tne singing of the 1 Admiral’s Broom” by -Ur Bert Rawlinson. ■Humorous recitations will be givtn by Miss E. M. Holland. On ■ the instrumental side of the programme will be a trio (Messrs Pettitt, Hunter and Law) and a novelty quartet playing the latest popular melodies.
