Halley, a young married man, fell 'from a sc ifo ding 1 when engaged on renovation work at a Port Ahuriri wool store this morning. He died in hospital this evening. His wife resides at 130, Montreal Street, Christchurch. SHOOTING ACCIDENT, CHRISTCHURCH, August 4. When Edward Smith, of 251 Selwyn Street, was untying a douLL-barrelled shot-gun from his bicycle yesterday the gun accidentally went off, and Smith received the full charge in h.s right leg. He was taken immediately to the Christchurch Public Hospital where an operation was performed. Late last night Smith’s condition was reported to be satisfactory.
