BOGUS MEDICAL “SI'KCIA! A Hungarian who claimed to be a specialist in cancer and tuberculosis, and maintained an enormous practice in the ■Rhineland for nearly 16 years, has been sent to prison for three mon:hs. It was stated in court that he knew as much about medical matters as an ordinary hospital mn;se. His knowledge was derived from a few medical books. Hi? man, however, was consulted by no fewer than 7000 patients a year, and had an income which would have satislied a Harley Street specialist. The information which led to his appearance in court at Dortmund was .suppl ed bv a pupil who paid him £IOO to be- taught the “secrets” of his practice. The pupil quickly discover, d the truth and took steps to get his money back.
