STORMY AUCKLAND
EXTENSIVE DAMAGE DONE, (By Telegraph — Per Press Association) AUCKLAND. August 2. A long spell of wintry weather culminated in a severe storm in Auckland over tbe week-end. Yesterday and today a westerly gale was blowing in frequent fierce squalls, accompanied by bail, while there two severe thunderstorms. Some ol the squalls were the worst experienced in Auckland and several doors and windows were blown in, while extensive minor damage was done. A shop verandah, at St. Holicrs collapsed, bringing down the telegraph wires. A coal hulk broke adrilt troni its moorings in the harbour this atternoon, but it was secured alter it had been blown some distance down the harbour.
