THOUGHTS OF THE TIMES.
BERNARD SHAW’S LITTLE WAY
Of course they cheered Alt* Bernard Shaw in Moscow. Here was a famous Briton blessing the Revolution. But when Mr Shaw has departed, and the gllamo-ur of his extravagant speech has waned, it may be that the Moscow Communists will be less enthusiastic, and they may even refer to him in the contemptuous terms they apply to Mr Ramsay MacDonald and other British Labour leaders. For to do Air Shaw justice (who does so little justice to his opponents), it must be pointed out that he is not a Communist, but a constitutional Soo ialdst. It was characteristic of him, however, that he should bless the bloody tyranny of Bolsthevism in its own temple. He is never unmindful of the majority, and the England majority detests Bolshevism. Here was another opportunity to lay a whip across the shoulders of the stupid English. Air Shaw has now praised the two great tyrannies of Europe— Fascism and Bolshevism. —Auckland Star.
