NEW DISTANCE RECORD. (British Official Wireless.) LONDON, August 1. The newspapers warmly congratulate the American airmen, Boardmuii. and Polando, who, by flying non-stop from New York to Constantinople, have set up a new long distance .e----cord. which, doubtless, will he recog--1 ilised by the International Aeronautics I Federation. The record previously was held oy Captain Costes'e and Bellonte, of Franco, who flew 4900 miles from Par s to China. it is calculated that the distance flown by Boardinan and Polando, was 4,984 sea miles. They plan to air re-fuel at Fairbanks, Alaska.
