“MEDICINAL” SALTS
PROVE POISONOUS. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) ASHBURTON, July 31. Drinking hot milk after medicinal salts, probably / saved the life of Rev. A. J. Peterie, who was dangerously ill for several hours. His mother in law, Mrs Parkinson, aged seventy, was also seriously ill and was taken to the hospital, but is progressing. It is alleged that the salts contained sulphate of zinc, they having been been contained in a zinc-lined container, instead of the usual unlined wooden box.
