ROUGH WEATHER

There was a very heavy thunderstorm last night about 11 o'clock, the lightning being very vivid ana the thunder close and loud, continuing at intervals for nearly an hour. The night continued to be a very boisterous one, with heavy rain at intervals. This morning a strong south westerly gale was blowing with showers. There is a mountainous sea running. The barometer this morning at 9 o’clock was extremely low, the reading being 29.02, but it started to rise a little afterwards.
