ADDINGTON STOCK SALES. L ily Telegraph, Per Press Association.j CHRISTCHURCH, July 30. There were large yardings at yesterday’s sale. There was a larger yarding of beef. The quality was good. There were many lots from outside Canterbury. There was a slight decrease in values. The market was irregular. Best heavy steers sold up to £l7 12s fid, prime heavy £ll 17s 6d to £l3 10s, prime £lO to £ll, medium £6 10s to’ £8 12s fid, inferior from £5 ss. Best heifers sold up to £ll 12s fid, prime £6 15s to £S, medium from £4 ss; best cows to £ll 12s fid, prime £6 15s to £8 ss, medium £4 15s to £5 10s, inferior ironi 555. There was a small yarding of stoic sheep, mostly of ewes. Small lots ot ewes were selling at slightly advance on late rates. For larger lines, there was no appreciable difference. Hoggets were hard to quit. Best wethers were firm. There was a large yarding of mutton all classes being represented, with a fair quota of exceptional quality lots. The market was slightly irregular. Recent values were fairly well maintained. Show wethers sold to 29s lOd, Prime heavy 19s .to 20s, prime 13s to 18s, medium 15s to Ifis, light from 12s. Best heavy ewes sold from 17s to 18s, prime 15s to. 16s, medium 12s to 14s, light from 10s. There was a smaller yarding of fat pigs. The market was keen at the commencement, with an easing tendency at tbe closing stages. Values were: — Porkers 36s to 39s fid, heavy 40s fid to £2 6s fid, choppers £2 10s to £5 18s fid; baconers £2 7s fid to £2 14s fid, heavy £2 18s fid to £3 4s fid, extra heavy to £3 14s fid. Store pigs were firm.
