INTEREST REDUCTION
BY BUILDING SOCIETIES. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association') WELLINGTON, July 29. The principal Building Societies in the Dominion have agreed to lower their rates of interest paid on deposits by a-half per cent., as from August Ist. A corresponding reduction will lie made in the rates of interest oil new loans made by these Societies. 'The reductions are conditional upon other financial institutions acting similarly.
