The Committee of Inquiry regarding the Beauharnois River diversion concession has presented its report to the House of Commons. The Committee recommends Parliament to take such action as is within its, power to procure the development of the Beauharnois project. \ The Committee declare that actions of the .senator,. whose profits were-cabled on July 22.nd can not be too strongly, condemned,” for “letting his private interest interfere with his public duties.” Two other, senators are also criticised for their acceptance of party funds and other actions. The Committee assert that the Beau. harnois firm’s Vive-Pr'esfdent and general manager is not a fit and proper person to continue in the management,. and they state that, the Company’s money has been squandered on campaign funds, and that it should be returned. ,Tv , ~
