BOWLING
TEAM FOR AUSTRALIA. ... CIX WEEKS’ STAY PROBABLE. The majority of the members of a team of New Zealand bowlers will leave Auckland by the Niagara on August 11 for Australia, where they will take part in the bowling carnival at Brisbane which commences on August 24. Following this tournament, it is anticipated that a tour will be arranged for the team by the New South Wales and Queensland Bowling Associations. The team will be managed by Mr J. W. Hardlev of Auckland who was manager of the New Zealand team that in 1928 toured Great Britain, Ireland, Canada and the United States. He wi’l be accompanied by Mrs Hardley Mr -T. Pascoe. of Auckland, will bo president. The following have been chosen to make the trip:—Mesrs F. Binns, H. J. Bray, W. Bremner, H. Collins, V. Casey, F. H. Davenport, tl. W. Frost, J. T. Gill, K. J. Goldsmith, C. E. Hard lev, J. W. Hardley, •). J. Hipkijis, H. ,3. Hill, W. Hunt, F. Kumer, A. More, G. A. M’ Kendrick, A. J. Par kef J. Pascoe, W. A. Robertson, C. G. Sandin and W. Thoinass, of Auckland, Messrs A. M. Olivers, J. S. Piper, G. Ramsay and J. Wyber of Christchurch. Messrs W. Chegwiden, C. W. Weller, and D. H. Whiting of Wellington and air M. J. Suhan of Levin. Messrs H. Collins, C. E. Hard’ey, W. Thom ass, A. J. Parker and J. .1. Hopkins are already in Australia and will join the team at Sydney. A number of members of the team will he accompanied 'by their wives. It is anticipated that they will be in Australia for six weeks and return to New Zealand by the Aorangi on September 1.7. At the Brisbane carnival at which ■ l is expected there will he 1000 competitors from all parts of Australia and New Zealand, the championship singles the rinks championship, the inter-State championship end a match Australia v. New Zealand will be played.
