Two thousand anti-Governin©nt students withstood an attempt on the part of a thousand military police ■ to dislodge them from the Campus barricade. The police poured rltie and machine gun fire against the barricade, the students responding with revolver fire. Several students are reported to have been killed, and at least a score were wounded. Sympathisers are preparing to call strikes, they blaming President ■lbanez for the nation’s economic depression. SANTIAGO DE CHILE, July 25. It is officially estimated that thirty persons have been killed in widespread disorders occurring through Chile Meanwhile the Oppositionists demand that President Ibanez should resign, as otherwise a general strike will be called.
