Following reports that the investors in the Beauharnois River Diversion enterprise are to be protected,. Mr 1. E. ■Weldon, K.C., announced that it was hoped to organise a bondholders’ protective association, stating Beauharnois bonds had been bought on the highest recommendation of some of .the highest financial authorities in the country. He added that losses had not been suffered by the bondholders, due to a reduction in • the price of Their holdings, from par of one 'hundred dollars to sixtyfive dollars. These losses amounted -. to over ten million dollars.
