WEDDING BELLS

A quite but pretty wedding took place at St. Paul’s Church, Ross, on Wednesday 22nd. The Reverend K. A. Warren officiating. The contracting parties were, Miss Lily Caroline Douglas, fifth daughter of Mr and Mrs Patrick Douglas of Ross and Walter, fourth son of Mr .Muir of Wellington formerly oi Ross. The bride who entered tire Church on the arm of her father, looked charming m ankle length frock of white crepe de chine trimmed with orange blossoms. She also wore the orthodox wreath and veil and carried a beautiful bouquet of roses and maiden hair fern. Sire was attended by Miss lidith AVall as bridesmaid while Mona, sister of the bride, acted ns flower girl, the former wearing ankle length frock ol pale blue satin and the latter pale pint satin, both wearing bands of tulle round their heads to match their frocK.and carried dainty bouquets of carnations, lillies and, maiden hair fern. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr William Muir, brother of the bridegroom. After the ceremony the party adjourned to the home of the bride s parents, where a sumptuous weddP'g breakfast was- partaken of and the usual toasts were duly honoured. The bride’s mother received her guests in a navy blue costume. The presents received were numerous and costly, in_ eluding a number of cheques. Later the hanoy couple left by car for north where the lio - eyinoon' is to be spent. The bride’s travelling dress was a brown tweed costume, with hat and shoes to match. The future home is to be at Oi Anna, South Westland.
