WEDDING BEILS
The marriage was soleminised on Monday evening at. St. John’s Church, jWostport, of Mr Gordon Eljey, third *ou of Mr and Mrs R./Elley of Westport, and Miss Mary Sprague; daughter of Mr’ A'. "SpnagutTo rWfeUiiistfohK The bride, who was given away by her uncle, Mr J> Simpson, looked charming »in n wedding gown of ivory satin and; laoe; the beautifully draped skirt falling in soft folds to .the ground. Her dainty tulle veil edged with fine lace formed a long train, She wore a coronet of orange blossoms and carried a bouquet of violets and maiden' hair, She 'was" attended by two bridesmaids, Miss Elsie Elley, sbvfcer of the bridegroom, wearing ; a pink ankle-length chiffon velvet - frock and Miss Rene Simpson, cousin of the bride, wearing a yellow ankle length . chiffon velvet frock. They both wore black felt hats and carried bouquets cf'harcissi. * Mr Stan Powell acted as best man" and •Mr Arthur Stannard was groomsman. After the ceremony which was conflu cted by the Rev, r J; W. Bloyce, the guests were entertained by Mr and Mrs Ruben Elley at a dinner at their resir deuce. Derby Street. The happy couple left by private car for Dunedin where the honeymoon will be spent. The bi’ide travelled in a smart saxe blue costume with a black velour-coat and hat. to match. ,In the-evening a .number*’ of guests were entertained at a daiuce-ih the Orange ..Hall, where a. very pleasant time was spent.
