THURSDAY, JULY 23rd. lY’A's programme this evening will consist of a relay oi the Bohemian Orchestra's Concert at the Auckland Town Hall. This is the second concert of the season. The orchestra is under the conduetorship of Mr Colin Aluston, L.R.A. ..VI. and is considered by many critics to be the finest combination of its kind in New Zealand. It consists of 80 well trained players. The soloists will be '.Miss Bunty Stuart and Mr John Bree. A studio concert will be given by the Wellington Municipal Tramways Band, under .nr E. TT'amdm, and 2YA artists. The programme by the band has been well chosen and includes acornet solo by 'Bandmaster Stevenson, ‘‘Arbucklenian Polka.’’ Mr H. F. Gardiner a newcomer to 2YA, will be heard in three songs, “The Merry Monk,” “The Garden of your Heart” and "The One of all the. World.” The 'Waiata Ladies Quartet will once again delight listeners in quartettes, duets and solos 3YA‘s programme will be of an opera-tic-classical nature, to be followed by a session- of dance music. Soprano solos with orchestral accompaniment will be sung by Miss Frances Hamerton, and Mrs Josephine Brosnaham will contribute mezzo-soprano songs. Mr T. D. Williams (bass-baritone) will s'lig “1 he Pagan,” “How Many a Lonely Caravan' and the famous “Largo al Factotum, all to orchestral accompaniment. Professor R. C. Zirnmermann, violin virtuoso, will give a recital. An orchestral programme will be provided by the Stud'o Octet. Silent day at, 4YA.

The vocalists on the' programme will be -Uiss Doris .Moore, coii11alto, and .Ur William Farrow, tipior. ,u,r Cyril Towsey, studio pianist, >vill play "Autumn’’ (by Chaminade). .i programme ol a varied nature will be broadcast from 2YA. The Orchestrina will play the overture ‘‘Fra Diavolo,” cii. seneL.oji ".uascoLte,’’ and the selection "Paul Jones.” Also on the programme will be Mr ’lhomas Goodall, solos cornetist. The vocal portion will b/ in the hands of Mr -Edwin Dennis .(tenor) and Miss Him Rapley (soprano) and Mr Ken. Rigby (baritone). Mrs Mildred Kenny’s Guitar Orchestra will again delight listeners with popular melodies. There will be dance music from 9.30 till 11 p.m.
The vocal portion of 3YA’s miscellaneous programme will be provided by the members of the Salon Quartet (Miss '(Ulie Campbell, Miss Duleie Mitchell, Mr H. J. 'Francis and Mr Cl:ve Hindlc) wj h humour in songs and story from ,Mr Jock Lockhart. Cornet solos will be played by Mr a. Coffin and the Studio Octet will provide an orchestral programme. Variety will also mark 4YA’s programme.' Mrs T. B. Pointon and Mr John Leech will be heard in duets and solos. There will be contralto songs from Mrs E. Stone. The Radiettes will perform in song, dance and patter. Trios will be played by Miss Ethel Wallace Sybil Baker and V. Moffat", with violin solos by Miss Wallace and ’cello solos by Miss Moffatt. Mr «• Nrown will contribute Scottish humour to the programme, Mrs C. Drake p.anofoite solos and specially sel cted gramophone records will he introduced.
