CARGO FOR- SOUTHERN PORTS
AUCKLAND, July 21. Cargo for southern, ports is to he discharged from the steamer City of Kimberley this week, aaid despatched by coastal steamers as opportunity offers. When the City of Kimberley, disabled by the loss of her propellor, arrived at Auckland from New York in tow of the motor ship Opawa, she discharged the local portion of her cargo at the Queen’s wharf, and after docking for inspection went to an anchorage in the stream. The remainder rtf her cargo, consigned to Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin and Sydney, is still aboard the vessel, and • southern merchants have been asking for it. The vessel has been delayed at Auckland since July 2. andl will have to remain here until a new crankshaft, tailshaft and propellor arrive from England to he installed. The local office of the New Zealand Shipping Company, agents for the A. and A. .Line, by whom the vessel is chartered, has not yet completed arrangements for the transhipping, and it is not yet definitely known when the
vessel will berth. It is suggested, however, that the Australian portion of her cargo may also lie put out here and taken by the Union Company’s steamer Waikawa,
