The “Sydney Herald” says:—“lt is probable that the State Cabinet will give an undertaking that New South Wales will rejoin the Loan Council, and also;/,give a guarantee that the State will assume responsibility lbr payment' of- oversea interest. Cabinet! Ministers generally: expressed the view that the guarantees sought by Mr Scullin should''.bo given. The “Telegraph” -says :—Significant statements, indicating the strength conditions ;t f o which; at least four oi the States) require Lang to submit before his requbst for cash assistance will he considered, were made yesterday in Adelaide. Cabinet decided to stand solidly behind Mr Scullin in his attitude towards Mr Lang. The Victorian Premier said in the Assembly, amid cheers, that unless the New South Wales Government accept its share of the responsibilities its request for- the Loan. Council assistance cannot he entertained. The Governments of Queensland and West Australia, joined in opposition to granting further assistance to Mr Lang.
