UNEMPLOYMENT LEVY

REGISTRATION 1 AND PAYMENT. ' Under the principal Unemployment Act ‘those people liable for the levy had to register at Post Offices within a month after the commencement of the Act and the coupon books were issued at a later date. 7\ The amending Act makes registration and the issue of coupon books simultaneous actions. Those liable would be wise to make early payment in order to avoid the congestion that is probable in the larger centres from Ist. August onwards. The penalty for default in payment for moi-e than one month is £5, and for every month or part of a month i that the levy remains unpaid provision is 1 made for an additional fine of sixpence. A good number of people have paid ‘the levy up to the end of November $ and it. is desired that some time in that month they shall call at a MoneyOrder Office and have a readjustment made with respect to the payment of 6b for the August-October levy and the 7b 6d they have paid for the Septem-ber-November quarter, '
