The report of the Macmillan Committee on Finance and Commerce has Leon awaited with the greatest in* terqst. at Home, for it was* felt that •issues of vital importance weye at stake. The committee has stressed the need for ensuring stability c-f prices, but at a level higher than that now ruling, for any prolonged continuance of present prices would threaten the economic structure of many countries. Several leading economists have advocated the adoption of 1928 prices as a .satisfactory basis, and if efforts were made to- secure a return to those prices the- Dominion would be among the countries to benefit materially’.
