PRICE OF HATS
AN INCREASE LIKELY. (By Teleyraph —Per Press Association) DUNEDIN, July 13. It is stated locally that the prices of certain classes of hats will rise as the result of the Customs Department having, without notice, reclassified hat lining as part of a hat, and not manufacturers’ material, as formerly. This lias raised the tariff to 67$ per cent on foreign imports and 37$ per cent on British lining.
