SYDNEY, July 14

The retaining wall of the darn on Lake Urana was fractured in three places, arid tons of water are pouring through the breaks, flooding the already overflowing Bullabong creek and Edward river. Unless the flow js checked in time, it means a disaster to the towns of Monlainein, Cobavgo and Jerilderie.

Whether the breaks were made by ■ pressure of water or by over anxious townspeople to save their homes, is unknown.

Last night water entered the streets of 'Maulamein which is more than a hundred miles from Urana. A number of homes were invaded by flood waters. A more serious flood is expected in th course of a few days.
