(By Telegraph—Per Press Association) CHRISTCHURCH, July 1L ' A representative Shield hockeymatch was played to-day between Canterbury (holders) and Waikato (challengers). The result of the match was a dra,w, two goals each, and Canterbury retains the Shield. Waikato drew first blood with a goal by C. Spiers, but Beil equalised for Canterbury before half time. Waikato again took the lend when, from a scramble in the home circle, C. Spiers shot his second goal. Canterbury held Waikato on the defensive for a long spell without scoring, but at last, two minutes before time, Former sent a good pass to Bell, who scored.
