Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting opened at Trentham to-day in fine weather, the day being one “out of the box,” after almtet’’ a ;,month's rain. The track was very heavy, but was in good order. The racing was keen and interesting. The attendance was moderate compared with other years, and included Lord Bledisloe and party.
