WELLINGTON R.C. MEETING. STEEPLES TO PARIS. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association ) WELLINGTON, July 11. Wellington Racing Club’s winter meeting opened at Trentham to-day in fine weather, the day being one “out of the box,” after almtet’’ a ;,month's rain. The track was very heavy, but was in good order. The racing was keen and interesting. The attendance was moderate compared with other years, and included Lord Bledisloe and party. The tote showed ai ,very substantial decrease, the turnover being only £22,188 compared with £42,472$ results:—
