TO MAKE PUFF PASTRY. There are two ways. There is the laborious old-fashioned method of hand mixing the ingredients, followd by the repeated and skilful use of the rolling pin. The modern way is to purchase the paste ready to put into the oven. Ernest Adams Ltd. have introduced this modern way in the form of Feth-ev-Flake. ’♦All the best quality ingredients you would use yourself are in Tether-Flake ready mixed. Simply roll out, cut to shape, and bake with meat, fruit or jam in the form desired.
The removal of certain disability which now hamper the operations of those engaged in the New Zealand wine industry is sought in the Licensing Amendment Bill which Air H. &. B. Mason (Lab.. Auckland Suburbs) intends to introduce in the House. The Bill is similar to that which" Air Mason has introduced on two former occasions. It is a short measure, aiming principally at the amendment of Section 11 of the Licensing Amendment Act, 1914. It proposes to allow growers to co operate in selling wine, whereas the present law permits the grower to sell his own wine only; to permit the grower to have more than one depot for the sale of wine, and permit the sale in repluted quarts, whereas the present minimum is two gallons to any one person at any one time.
