“SCOTLAND YARD.” Make-up, as an art, is brought to its highest perfection by Edmund Lowe in the dual role he portrays in “Scotland Yard,” Fox Movietone drama of tlie efficiency of the world’s greatest criminal' hunters, directed by William K. Howard, which will be shown at the Princess Treatre to-night (Saturday). As Sir John Lasher, Loive portrays his .uSuiMpolished gentleman of the world.“Dakin Barrolles,” England’s most . feared bank robber, he must assume the disguise of the underworld. The intensely human story involves the struggle of an underworld character to resume his place in decent society. Though the mistake of a plastic surgeon who rebuilds his face after it has been mangled in battle, Barrolles, tli© criminal,, is made to appear exactly like Sir John Lasher, English gentleman. At first he is to be accepted by society without having to pay for hits former .crimes. But his sense of honour prevents him from keeping up the pose when he finds the wife of the man he is representing to he, loves him and he loves her. That is the dramatic climax. He must choose whether he shall take the love offered and escape the prison bars or con ess, and earn thfe right to that love. Joan Bennett, the wife of Sir John Lasher, head. 4 the Cast.
