THURSDAY, JULY 9th. ■ The IYA Studio concert this evening will be given by the Auckland Society of Musicians. Two well known Auckland vocalists will appear on the programme. Miss Patr.cia McLeon (lyric soprano) and Mr A B. Thompson (oari■j ome).

‘The Bosun’s Adoice,’’ all three written and composed by Mr Harry Coventry, of Wellington. Also on the programme will be a piano lecture-recital with introductory comments by Mr Sydney Francis Hoben.,Miss Mabel Dyer (contralio) and Mr Edgar Swain (tenor) will be heard in duels and solos, and a solo on the vibraphone will be given by Miss Joyce Morgan. The band will present a well selected programme of overtures, marches and novelties. A feature will be .the cornet duet “Two Comrades” by ißimmer with band accompaniment, to be played by Sergeants Bowman and Johnston.

The Melodious Four at 3YA will sing, a number of concerted songs, including two negro spirituals, an old English song “To the .Maypole” and the old favourite, “Sweet and Low.” Soprano solos will be contributed by Miss Frances

Haifterton and mezzo-contralto songs by Miss' Mifliceut Jennings. Mr Russell

Sumner will sing Schubert’s “Serenade.” and Edgai'V “Pleading.” Bass solos by Mr T. D. Williams will be Schumann’s "My 'Abode” and .Pinsuti s “I Fear no Foe.’’ On the instrumental side of the programme, Miss Irene Morris will contribute violin solos and Mr A. E. Hutton flute solos, while selections will be played by the Studio Octet. Silent day at 4YA.,

Miss Rita Thomas, a well known : .onualto, is making her first-appearance at this station as a soloist, and . Miss li-.dna Thomas will give humorous items. ' Tenor .solos will be sung by Mr J. Ainslcy Dagksh, and Mr Simon PhiKpoft' will give items on the balalaika. A varied programme will be presented by the 2YA Orcheswina. Dome and j.aur.e, a bright and breezy couple, will delight listeners in up-to-date songs and stories. 'Miss Ann> Gilpin (mezzo-soprano) .v.il sing four songs with orchestral accompaniment “Remembrance,” “The Valv and the Hill,’' "The Forge,” and

“Silent O’Moyle.” Messrs Bei'thold and Bent, guitar duo, wifi be heard in a new budget of popular numbers. There will be baritone solos by Mr A. W. Beck ford.

The Dulcet Quartet will be the vocalists at 3YA, singing concerted and solo numbers. Solos will be sung By Mrs W. I 8. Hams, .Miss Nellie Lowe, Air James Shaw and Mr A. G. Thompson. A'duet, j “Carmena,” will be sung by Miss Lowe : aid '.Ur Shaw. Piano novelties will be provided by the Studio Octet, which j /will also accompany many of the vocal numbers. “Songs of Other Days” will be the programme presented from 4YA Studio.
