SYDNEY, July 9. The Empire Billiards Championship was won by L. Steeples (England), who defeated the titlcliolkler. Sidney Lee (England) by 2000 to 1126. Best breaks were': Steeples 261, 261, 140, 109; Lee 140, 133. Steeples showed bright crisp billiards and was the most confident. Lee was a little unlucky and was unable to get going.
