An engine and three crowded coaches of a train on the mountain railway, proceeding to Simla, the summer capital of the Government of India, narrowly escaped disaster when it plunged over an embankment of 2000 feet, but luckily was stopped by large boulders after falling a hundred feet. Nineteen were injured, five seriously.
