(Received this day at 9.25 a.m) CULOUTTA, July 7. Dina.sk Chandra Gupta, a young Bengal, was executed at dawn for the
murder of Colonel N. fe. Simpson, Bengal Inspector General of Prisons, Qjecember J3th. ~ Two of Gupta’s, accomplices of that outrage suicided- Gupta also attempted to kill himself, but recovered.
There ' were protest gatherings throughout the city.
BURMESE REBELLION

CALCUTTA, July 7
A Government communique relative to the Burma roundup, places the total rebel casualties to date at two thousand, more than half of which were killed or died of wounds owing to a lack of rebel medical services.
The rebellion has now spread to Northern Shan where terrorism and looting is prevalent. Forty rebels were 'killed in this locality recently.
