GIRL WITH AN AIR PISTOL
DEMANDED RETURN OF MONEY. AUCKLAND, July 3. A young woman, Zelma Bauman, pleaded guilty to a charge of being found' unlawfully in. possession of an air pistol. Defendant was employed by a spectacle manufacturer, Donald Campbell. Some time ago Campbell borrowed £lO from Bauman and gave a promissory note to mature in August. She discovered that the note was not in her handbag, and suspected Campbell of taking it. Slio asked him for the return of the £lO, and Campbell dismissed her. She bought an air pistol and returned to Campbell’s shop with the idea ot making him pay. The pistol was not pointed or fired at Campbell, but lie became alarmed and sent tor a constable.
“Convicted and discharged,” said tin id agist.rjite. ‘(You dan go now, but don’t do it again.”
