SHOT TN THE HEAD. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) OHRIBTOHURCH, July 0.

1 lie death ot Charles Lyes, a malster, of Wildberrv Street, Woolston, who was found with a. bullet wound in bis bead on Saturday morning at bis borne, with a rifle beside him, was investigated by Conner Young. Dr. Wvn Irwin, house surgeon at Christchurch Hospital said at 8.15 lie bad seen only the one wound, which was at the back of the bead above the left ear. “If that was the only wound P would have been very difficult for it to have been self inflicted,” remarked the Coroner. Constable Boswortlx said the wound was above the left ear, towards tile back of the bead. It could have been self inflicted, if the deceased had leaned backwards over the gun. The Coroner adjourned the inquest for a post mortem.
