Germany’s four million unemployed are estimated to have eight million dependents subsisting, according to Herr Bruening on the dole, not exceeding 50 to 70 shillings per month. In addition there are a million and a-iialf middle class unemployed whose plight is worse.

Thus Fascists and Communists control about half the electorate. As a result of the drift to extremism, there lias been a wave of violence throughout the country. INDIAN CONFERENCE. CALCUTTA, July 4.
