Five hundred Chinese assisted by Chinese police, attempted to disperse two hundred Koreans, who are Japanese subjects and who were constructing an irrigation channel near ChangTlun. Japanese police, however, kept the Chinese at bay, the former being helped by reinforcements with machine guns. Negotiations are now in progress. The incident is further complicated by the Manchurian situation, which is already grave.
