SATURDAY, JULY 4th. ■ *J his evening, the IYA Orchestral Octet will be playing the “Chelsea China” suite, and "Country Girl" selection. Mrs B. Jellard, popular contralto, and Miss Eileen Smithson, will be heard again, the latter singing several songs of the popular type. Mr Dan blood, humorist, is always very welcome, bringing with hint a wealth of professional experience, and Mr Ivan l’errin will once again delight listeners with several nove'ty piano solos. At 2YA, in commemoration of the Uh July, Aimrjra’s Independence Day, tlcre will be a lull instrumental programme of American selections and melodies. Mr Spencer Burrell (lightbnritono) a newcomer to 2YA, will be beard in popular melodies with orchestral accompaniment. Mrs Amy Dunn (soprano) and Mi Xotio Toki will he singing. Two humorous sketches will be given by Miss Grade Kerr and Mr James Cooke. Both 3YA and 4YA will be broadcasting on relay from His Majesty's 'Theatre, Dunedin, a concert to lb given under the auspices of the Society of Professional Musicians of Otago, m aid of the music teachers of Hawkes | Bay. MONDAY, JULY 6th. This afternoon, IY.Y is on the air to broadcast results ot the. Taumaruiiui Lacing Club's Meeting, which will be held at Ellerslie Racecourse. 2.VA listeners will this owning have the opportunity of hearing the whole of a grand opera. Signor l.ucii n Cesaroni’s 'Op; ratio Company will present Mascagniis celebrated “Cavalleria Rusticsns" in its entirety, and a line production is assured. Signor Cesamni will also sing the “Prologue’’ from “I Pagkacci" (by Leoncavallo), and Allred 'Hill's powerful song “Taiigi.’’ Mr lordon Short will play Aloszkoevski’s brilliant “Polonaise.’ Several new radio artists will provide the vocal numbers for the programme to lie given from 3YA by Ihe Woolstou (Band. Miss Phyllis Coombs (soprano), Ur ss Adda Wellard-King (mezzo-soprano) Air S. J. Goslin (baritone), and Mr T. Gumming (humorous reciter,) will be contributing. Alr Goslin is a Christcbtirch music teacher, with London train•ing. Mr Climming was a prize winner at tin l recent Christchurch Competitions. A cornet solo, “Rulcap,'’ will be played bv Bandsman R. Gblson. For the International Programme at TYA this evening, Mr J. Grossley G'litheroc, Lecturer on Music at the Dunedin Training .College, will lie the speaker. His' subject will be; “lire International Kinship of 'Music.”
