N.Z. GUN CLUB. (By Telegraph —Per Press Association) HAMILTON, July 2. The N.Z. Gun Club tournament was continued to-day. In the Live Pigeon Championship, N. Bossad (Huntly), L, Groom (Otane.) and M. Pratt (Otorohanga) shot the possible 2] birds, Bos sad winning the shoot oil. CONTROL OF BROADCASTING. CHRISTCHURCH. July 2. The Chamber of Commerce to-night carried the following resolution: “It having been reported that it is the intention of the Government to take over the control of' the broadcasting organisation in New Zealand, this Chamber begs to request that no further Government departments be created, or any extension of the activities of Government departments in this or any field which can lie.more suitably carried on by private enterprise. NELSON COLLEGE.
NELSON, July 2
Nelson College Governors on the voices with some dlsontients, including the Chairman, carried the following motion: “That the Minister of Education be requested “to submit to the Council of Governors, for consideration and comment, any new Regulations drawn in pursuance of Section .38 of the Finance Act No. 2, 1931, or any other Act, for the control of Nelson College, before such regulations are finally settled and gazetted.” During the discussion it was pointed out that the Minister had asked two members of tlifj Board to visit Wellington and confer with him in connection with the new regulations,' but the feeling of the supporters of the motion was that the Board as a whole should be consulted.
