ITALY’S PENAL CODE.
NOW OPERATIVE. 'ROME, July 1. The new penal code is operative today. It reimposes the death penalty for‘many crimes hitherto punishable by imprisonment. The system introduces pay for adult prisoners for work done with a percentage refunded to pay for keep.
