The effects of the depression on the building activity in the metropolitan area of Sydney are strikingly demonstrated by official figures, which 'disclose a reduced outlay on buildings of £9,250,000 this year as compared with last year. CENSUS POSTPONED. SYDNEY, July 2. The Commonwealth Government intended taking a census in 1933, but has postponed it until 1935, owing to the heavy cost. '• WHEAT EXPORT. - SYDNEY, July 2. Wheat shipped during the past six months from Sydney totalled 75,000 tons, which is about 'two-thirds of tho State’s exportable surplus. The average value of the wheat for insurances purposes was about 80/- per ton and the total value nearly three million , sterling. The average price 4o the grower was slightly more than 2/- per bushel. \
