SOLICITOR IN TROUBLE,
<By Telegraph — l‘er L'ress Association) AUCKLAND, July 2. Berciva! John Scantlebury, 46, a barrister and solicitor, pleaded guilty to a charge of making a false statutory declaration in respect of his trust account, and a similar charge of making h false audit certificate, and two charges cf uttering these documents to Crown Law Office. Jn a statement accused said in 1930 owing to illness he allowed his books to get behind.
Pressed by the Crown Law Office for a certificate he adopted the course of preparing and signing a certificate and verifying the declaration, which he forwarded in the, hope of getting time to bring his books up to date.
He was committed for sentence on bail of £IOOO.

Wniata Huia Per rail, 28, a clerk, pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence on charges of making false audit certificates 'and statutory declarations in respect to the trust account of her employers, and firm oi .solicitors. ,
