A FORCED LANDING

SQUADRON FLIGHT DELAYED. (By Telegraph—Per Press Association) OAMARU, June 30. Shortly after 1 o’clock today, Squad-ron-Leader M, C. McGregor, who is flying from Dunedin to Sockburn, was compelled to make a forced landing at Deborah, near Oamaru, on account of a, partially seized engine. The landing was effected skilfully without damage, and the two accompanying aeroplanes, with Mr T. W. White, pilot to New Zealand Airways, Ltd., Flight-Lieuten-ant M. W. Buckley, and Pilot Officers H. S. T. Weston and B. Armstrong, also landed nearby, to give assistance. Later Colonel Barrowelough and Mr E. G. Olsen, instructor to* the Dunedin Aero Club, en. route to Oamaru, also landed in the vicinity.

Squadron-Leader McGregor resumed his flight at 4 o’clock, proceeding to Timaru, and the Dunedin airmen returned south. The others remained at Oamaru for the night.
